Gentlemen

I have spent 11 years in a school that was desperate to turn its boys into gentlemen... and the definitions they've posted have varied. But it remains clear the term gentlemen isn't as specific as it is assumed.

... the question posted out to me by Sabs was... "Why aren't most of our blockmates gentlemen? The opening doors for ladies, and the carrying of books" "The only legit gentlemen in the block are Coo, Josh, Oli and Mike L.".... wait hold it there...

First of all.... Mike L. ? hahahahahahha

Second of all... I don't consider myself a good example of being a gentleman, but when I am excluded from the list because I don't help you girls carry your books or open your doors... I think its unfair that you consider "Gentleman" as a woman's companion of good manners and respect (a.k.a. butler) and assess us on by how much we help YOU. There are many more ways to show kindness and respect. And don't judge us because we don't show them to YOU. That was selfish.

Third stop... I don't see it as a problem. I think all guys in the block are gentlemen... Nobody's a true asshole. I should know. I am the closest to one (that was pa-cool). We'd open the doors and carry the books of girls we like. Because of the attention. Not because we wanna show them what kind of people we are. But because we want them to feel special. (So take out any arguments on being plastic)
Look at those four people (Coo, Josh, Oli, Mike L.).... Coo and Josh are the girl blockies' best friends. They hang out with the girls more than the guys. So its a little more comfortable for them to lend a helping hand. If I was in their shoes.... siguro yeah... Id be a bit more proper. But my attention really never focuses on your troubles. That's where I am at fault. So If I see you having a hard time with your books and or needing a door to be opened... blame me. I agree. But once again... Don't judge me because You don't get my attention and think I should've.
Oli naman is one true gentleman ( Im using your coined definition here and Im not saying Josh and Coo aren't) because he looks around. He actually looks for people who need help and he helps them. That rings up my book. God speed Oli... God speed and live on. On Mike L....
so in conclusion... I say that none of us are true assholes. I don't see any guy missing the opportunity to help an old woman or humble himself when necessary. Ignore the conformist rules.
