The times they are a-changin

Bob Dylan has concerts as simple as the man himself. There are no fireworks, background dancers or flashing light walls. It's him, a stool and some used guitar. Never change Bob. never change.

But his most famous song talks about how we should be ready for change. Time moves and we better move along with it.

My Grandpa passed away.
I dunno. Its not like I knew him well or had walks. But it hurts to never be able to see him again.

I love you. I miss you and I will pray for you. For all its worth, I'm really happy to have been your grandson.

Tickets

The biggest collegiate rivalry is, was and forever will be, Ateneo versus La Salle. I don't have a clue on how this started, but I do know that rich kids from rich schools ultimately end up there. You can imagine the pent-up spoiled energy fueling this passion of Blue vs. Green. And all we wanted to do was watch the damn basketball game.

We drove down all the way to Araneta Coliseum to be welcomed by fucking humanity. A load of it.

And this wasn't the game. This was just the buying of the tickets for the game and the parking lot was full. It was the last game of the year and you could tell.

What pissed me off even more was half the people there weren't even from either school. A bunch-a NU pussies. Fucking FEU frat boys hoping to score some tickets to the schools they were intellectually deprived of joining. Sorry. i know you were thinking it too.

No? Well I fucking was.

I also had to endure being asked if I was a Korean by some lady. But we got the tickets. Now time for Something Fishy and Ps2.

Peace out. Batista Bomb.

Free Speech

1. My opman class is full of characters talaga. You can make a pretty decent fairy tale by just sitting in and imagining their back stories. But we have this one character who tries to be the beautiful damsel, until the evil witch known as "Reality" cut her fucking nose off. Lemme share you an email she sent on our yahoo groups.

"We need to have a headcount of the people who are going to our mini celebration after the exam on Friday. If you're not close to either of the celebrants, don't even bother coming Anyway, we'll be having it most probably in Cantina so please let us know ASAP"

You piece a shit. I will goddamn shit right on your fucking enormous nostrils! Fuck you wilbur!

2. We just finished our second IAC game of the season. Basketball is life, nowadays. According to Jay's blog, we won the first game 48 - 37. The second game was a total bust up and our team didn't gel well, kaya we lost 57 - 48.

Based on those stats, I propose that our team keep the opponent scoring less than 48 points.

Hawaiian Roller Coaster ride

This is an underrated Disney song. It failed to have the push it deserved considering the lead character was a blue alien and not the usual fairy tale princess.

"I'd surf til the sun sets, beyoooooond the horizon"

Allow me to dream of the beach, because I have just survived hell week. A day may come when the will of men fails, when I forsake my future and break all bonds with Ateneo, but it is not this day!

The past fifteen days have been so bad on my body that sleep would seem more like a vacation rather than a necessity. It started last week with the eco long test that was 50% of my final grade. Followed by the theology paper + presentation one-two punch. Then the Opman paper, the cs Flash website, the CS final photoshop submission, the OPMAN LONG TEST, marketing pass 3 and 4, and the marketing mock defense. If you could fit management economics in a span of two weeks, it was done right there.

"No worry, no fear, ain't no biggie braddah"

How'd ya like my new poster?

Carpool jokes are only funny if they involve one of four phrases: "Diba", "man love", "I laughed mohn" and "JV Sebial".

The Black Mamba

KOBE IS GOD

I went to the philippine sports complex, formerly known as Ultra, with ches, just and rizza to watch the supernatural tour of probably the greatest basketball player of our time and quite possibly the best who ever lived. Kobe Bryant stopped by Manila to kick off his promotional tour and I was so entrenched into everything he did.

He'd do those side-to-side drills for defensive movements..
"I love you Kobe... shit you are so brilliant!!!!!!"

He's talking about the fundamentals of basketball and said that his talents only became talents through hard work.
"Tang Ina... Kobe is a philosopher. I would never have thought of that. Practicing and working hard makes you better. Kobe is a genius!!!! a fucking genius!! He is Aristotle with an intense sunburn!! I love you Kobe!!!"

Then Kobe would tell the kids in the basketball camp, one of which was Ateneo's Kirk Long, that his jump shot took so much effort to perfect. he worked on it a thousand times a day.
"Good Lord. You got me. It makes perfect sense now. It's crystal clear to me now mamba. You have shown me the light"

Then Kobe dunked it. Not just some Calvin booth dunk. This one went all the way around. And he did it jumping over two people.
"Oh my god... kill me" (this is when justin and chester carried me off the court with a stretcher)

I had just witnessed the supernatural. Unfortunately, my pictures.... were never saved. Sayang yung pagkababa ko with chester when we climbed over the rails to get pics with mamba and sarah meier. I love karma.

I wanna know

If you went to prom in the early 2000s, I bet one of these three songs were in your CD mixtapes. "I'll Be" by I have no idea, "Iris" by the Goo Goo Dolls and "I wanna know" by Joe.

However, I truly dislike "I wanna know" (Yeah!).

I dislike it because whenever Joe says something sincere, he goes and hypes himself up. (Mmm. Yeah!)

He says how amazing it is for someone to knock him off his feet (Hmmm.)

And then a goddamn second voice just pops in and acts as a winging hypeman. (Alright!)

Sometimes you don't need a hypeman.

In any class that doesn't have any of your close friends, any acquaintance becomes your de facto "best friend". Whether he was your teammate in Basketball one time, or someone you saw at Blue skies, he is automatically your best friend in class. EXCEPT, if there's a girl.

So as I tried to become closer to this girl, de facto hypeman couldn't just let me go. He just could not let me go. Whenever I ask this girl a question, like the annoying second voice of Joe, you come in and answer. Something as trivial as, "Anong ginawa mo sa last project?". You answer for her. You fucking prick. I never got to know her, because there you are spewing conversation killers. I just wanna know her, man.

I just wanna know.

I waannnnaaaaa know.
