Stand By Me

Originally released in 1960, this song never reached #1 until a full generation later when a 1986 movie of the same name had it in its soundtrack.

Ben E. King's classic song gives us hope. So all my darlings, please "Stand by me".

I've seen what it takes to succeed in life. I think. Both my parents harbor the opposing poles of professional success with my Dad mostly talking with no planning, while my Mom does all the planning with limited networking skills. They complement each other quite well in that respect.

So, I can say I'm a bit of an enigma, not as skillful in both fields and worrying about where the future lies.

I read today that the average lifespan is 64 years old, and if that's true, I'm a third of the way home. No pressure now though. We all have our own unique timelines, like the song "Stand by Me". It may not be now, but it also could. Who knows?

Ain't that a thought?
