Love of my Life

Bring it back, bring it back. Don't take it away from me. Coz you don't know how much it means to me.

There is a sad reality present in these romantic movies. It's absolutely sick that we have to witness this evolution from teenage cowboys to the oldie-fuck-ups.

Let's say we pick out When Harry met Sally...
(quick anecdote... I watched the movie when I was kid with my parents. I think it was the most awkward thing when Sally decided to fake an orgasm. I forgot how they'd explained it, but they must've said something like "Son, she really likes that sandwhich don't she?")
... so again, with When Harry met Sally, there was no big boom of a "kilig" moment. It was more of a build up into an already existing relationship where the two parties were lost in an emotional war in deciding their feelings for the other person. Harry didn't know whether to look at Sally as more than a friend and Sally was confused about her own personal feeling. Boring. The "kilig" moment is replaced by a slow build up from a hatred into a cohesive unit that will eventually call each other theirs. Boring.

That's it.
Boring old shit.

When we look back at the other movies (the 80's teen movies, the young guns), it consists of a lot of rejection moments, then one big BOOM of profession. 10 things I hate about you, St. Elmo's fire, Sixteen Candles...

Jesus fucking Christ's holy hell a son of a bitch There it is!!!
AHHHHHH!!!!!
This is where teenage girls who are watching start jumping on their beds and calling their friends on how they need a lover.

Out of nowhere... some pretty boy punk performs "Can't take my eyes off of you" or someone pulls off a sudden kiss out of nowhere.
Out of nowhere!!!
Like that!
Like a snap!

What does this mean?
It means that while we're young, we're supposed consumed by the fact that our entire lives go down to this one moment. When you tell that person you love her...
BOOM!!!!
Not when you're old... it's long. It's professional. There's an original conflict of character between the two parties until some piece of luck forces them to work with one another. There we have another long wait before they realize that opposites attract. Then there's a certain courtship process that comes after the long wait.
It's so damn professional and boring.
There's no risk at all of one's reputation.

It means that when we're old, the process becomes easier, yet longer, which means that we have about two bullets to hit the target before we reach 35 (my preferred age of marriage) . When we're young, we've got a lot of chances to get the one, yet we're so full of chickenshit to actually pull it off.

Life... you unfair piece of fuck.
